A yacht photographer in Greece, from Athens to the Ionian
Greece is one of the busiest charter and brokerage grounds in the Mediterranean, and we travel from our French Riviera base whenever a broker needs new listing images or a charter manager is refreshing a brochure. We work between Athens, the Cyclades and the Ionian, depending on where the yacht is cruising.
Greek shoots come with their own constraints: the meltemi in high summer, long transits between islands, busy anchorages in August and drone restrictions around airports and archaeological sites. We plan around all of it, handle logistics, permits and local fixers, and send a fixed quote within 24 hours covering every island or port on the itinerary.

Shooting in the Cyclades around the meltemi
The Cyclades are where most yacht photography in Greece is booked: white villages above the water, bare islands and a very clear sea. Mykonos is the obvious meeting point for guests and crew, Santorini gives the caldera cliffs as a backdrop, and islands such as Paros and Naxos offer quieter anchorages for running shots and lifestyle work.
The meltemi is the factor to plan around. This northerly wind blows through the Aegean in July and August and can make the sea choppy for days at a time. We track the forecast closely, move running shots and drone flights into the calmer windows, and use sheltered southern anchorages for deck and lifestyle scenes when the wind is up.
If your dates are flexible, June and September usually give the steadiest conditions and warm, low light at both ends of the day.

The Ionian: greener coastline and calmer water
On the west side of the country, the Ionian looks very different from the Aegean. The islands are wooded and green, the bays are sheltered and the sea is often calmer in high summer, which makes it a strong choice for film work and slow running shots in flat water.
Corfu is the main hub for yachts arriving from Italy and the Adriatic. From there, Paxos, Antipaxos and the coast around Lefkada give a range of anchorages with pale limestone and clear water. We shoot here for brokers and charter managers who want a softer, more natural look than the classic Cyclades palette.

Athens handovers, charter starts and the Saronic islands
Athens is where many charters begin and end, and where yachts often sit between trips. A day alongside is enough for a full interior shoot, crew portraits and detail work, before the yacht leaves for the next charter. We schedule around turnaround days so the crew is not disturbed while preparing for guests.
The Saronic Gulf is close to the capital and useful for exterior work without a long passage: Hydra, Spetses and Poros each have a distinctive harbour and coastline. Further east, Rhodes and the Dodecanese are covered on demand when the itinerary heads toward Turkey.
Every gallery is delivered formatted for listing and charter platforms, so new images can go live before the next booking enquiry comes in.
FAQ.
When is the best time for a yacht photoshoot in Greece?
May, June and September usually give the best balance of settled weather, clear water and softer light. July and August work well too, but the meltemi can disrupt running shots and drone flights in the Cyclades, so we keep spare days in the plan.
Do you shoot yachts in Mykonos or Athens?
Yes. We travel from our Cannes base to wherever the yacht is, whether that is Mykonos, Athens, Santorini or the Ionian, and one fixed quote covers every location on the itinerary.
Can you fly a drone for yacht footage in Greece?
Yes, drone work is part of most of our shoots. Flights are planned around Greek aviation rules and restricted zones, including those around airports and archaeological sites, and we confirm what is possible for your locations before the shoot.
Can one quote cover several Greek islands?
Yes. Send us the itinerary and we return one fixed quote within 24 hours covering every island or port, including logistics, permits and local fixers.
How far in advance should we book a shoot in Greece?
For July and August, book as early as you can, since yachts and crews are busy with charters and dates fill up. Outside peak weeks, a few weeks' notice is usually enough.
